This is an auction of motor salvage vehicles and dismantled parts for those involved in the motor trade
Auction Extensions
If there is a bid within 20 seconds of the original provisional end time, the auction will be extended by 20 seconds from the original end time. If there is a bid in that new 20 second window, then the auction will be extended to 15 seconds after the end of that window. It will continue to extend until there is no bid in a 20 second window - then it will close and no further bids will be accepted. Provided a bidding screen is in a selected window on your computer, the right hand box of the bidding screen should automatically refresh each second. Do check the right hand box to see if a new bid has been made. Bidding screens in unselected windows will not refresh until selected. If you want to watch several auctions, use separate InternetExplorer sessions - not separate tabs within one session - and cycle between the windows to update the bid positions. top
Auction Vehicle Damage Descriptions/Inspection
We do not examine the vehicles in detail. The damage descriptions are indications where to look and will almost never be a complete list – the pictures you see are the ones we use to review the Insurance assessor’s category and are designed to show the areas where the damage to the vehicle body is significant. We strongly recommend that you inspect a vehicle. The site that the vehicle is at is shown in its details. The addresses etc of our sites can be found on SiteMap (top of this page) and then Locations. top
Auction Vehicles and DismantledParts Offered
The Auction vehicles we offer on this site are generally ones which have been recovered after having been stolen or vehicles not recorded on HPI for other reasons (Not Recorded/Category X), or ones where an insurance company assessor has decided that the cost of repairing the vehicle at an Approved Repairer might exceed the overall costs to the Insurance Company of settling the claim as a write-off (Categories D&C). We do not sell vehicles which the Insurance Companies have assessed should never go on the road again (Categories A&B) but do dismantle a lot of those and auction the DismantledParts on this auction site. (See DismantledParts for the parts included in each DismantledParts group.) top
AuctionWatch?
If you want to keep track of more than one vehicle auction, add them to your AuctionWatch as a base. The auctions you have selected will be listed in YourAccount. top
Bidding Rules
On receiving a bid, the system first checks whether your bid is higher than the last recorded "winning bid" – if so, the system will normally record you as the current "winning bidder" provided there are no earlier Autobids equal to or greater than your bid. Where two or more Autobids have the same maximum (equal to or greater than any single bid), the earliest AutoBid will be the "winning bid". top
Bigger Images
Our images are normally 1024x768 pixels. To see fullsize, click on an image and maximise the image window - then click on the image again. top
Buyer’s Premiums
There are no Buyer’s premiums. top
Buying from the Auctions
Only people seriously involved in the Motor Trade, whose application to register has been approved by us, may bid on the auction vehicles. To bid on an auction item, you need to login enter with your username/handle and Password. The amount of the next winning bid will be displayed in the Bid Amount text box. The Autobid feature allows you to place a maximum bid on an item and will automatically adjust your bid to the next winning bid amount when you have been outbid by another member. The amount of your maximum bid will be kept secret from all other members. You may keep track of multiple bids using your AuctionWatch in YouAccount. This feature is handy for keeping track of winning and losing bids you have placed, how much you owe on a won auction etc. top
Change of Ownership Notification/MOT Certificates for Auction Vehicles
We may notify Swansea of the change of ownership to the winning bidder. The name and address notified will be the full name and address given when you registered on our web-site. We do not supply existing Vehicle Registration Documents (V5s) or MOT certificates with the vehicles unless we specifically state in the Vehicle Details that they will be provided. top
Checking whether you have Won
If you have refreshed the screen and the bidding box is no longer available and you are shown as the winning bidder on the screen, then you have won. If you want further confirmation one way or another, you can check YourAccount. top
Collection/Delivery of Auction Vehicles
You have to collect your vehicle within seven days of the Auction end. After that we will charge you storage at the rates shown in the Terms & Conditions. You are responsible for the cost of picking up the vehicle from the location stated in the vehicle auction details. Please phone, fax or email the Yard at least 24hours before you wish to collect to check the vehicle is still at that yard and that the yard can load your vehicle within a reasonable +/- of your requested date/time. Tip: Do check the site a vehicle is at before bidding. top
